What are the Core Values of your Small Business?

Have you considered what the core values of your business are?

Values are important because they are something that you believe in and they should be ‘non-negotiables’. You should make this public so that potential clients can see what your values are. This should attract clients that share the same values as you and that can only be a good thing, right?

So, what are VIVA Support’s core values?

• Flexibility
• Integrity
• Transparency
• Trust

Flexibility

I started my Virtual Assistant business for many reasons; I couldn’t find a Human Resources job that worked around my personal situation for the right money but most importantly it was because I wanted to be around for my children whilst they still need me. I want to have the flexibility to be able to take them to appointments, to attend school shows and just generally be there for them when they need me without having to feel guilty for taking time off work or letting people down. For that reason, flexibility is key to me.

My dream, in the future, is to have employees and I will carry that value with me and actively promote it when I recruit.
I want to work with clients who understand the need for flexibility and this is an open discussion that I have with my clients when I first work with them.

Integrity

Honesty is always the best policy. If a client was to ask me to carry out a task and I hadn’t done it before, I would always be honest about this. I am very happy to learn new skills or be trained in different areas but it is still important for my clients to know that this is the case.

I would hate to do a job badly and leave a bad impression on my clients.

Transparency

I believe transparency is really important when you are working with someone. You wouldn’t walk into a shop and buy things that didn’t have prices on; the chances are, you probably wouldn’t even bother asking how much it is for fear of embarrassment, or just because you can’t be bothered to make the effort! So, why should it be any different with a service based online business?

You will find prices for all my Virtual Assistant service packages on my website www.vivasupport.co.uk/rates and there are no hidden fees. Everything is laid out in our initial discovery call, T&C’s and Booking Form. If you want something specific or a bespoke package, I am very open to discussing this and will do my best to accommodate.

Trust

As I am a Virtual Assistant, I am a remote business and although we have the wonders of technology such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, it isn’t quite the same as meeting someone in person. It is really important to me that my clients trust me. For this reason, I am very open and honest on all my social media channels. I don’t pretend to be something that I am not.

Also, working with a Human Resources/Recruitment specialism, it is even more important that my clients trust me as I am dealing with personal information. I often have to sign NDA’s to protect everyone.

If you don’t know what your business values are, sit down and work out what is important to you not only in your business but in your personal life.

If your values align with mine and you want to find out how we can work together to save you time and drive your revenue, please get in touch at emily@vivasupport.co.uk.
